Travel Time to Major Cities

February 19, 2009

Isn’t this a beautiful map?

access-map-1

legend Travel time to major cities (in hours and days) and shipping lane density

It’s a new map recently produced by the World Bank and the European Commission and measures gobalisation from the perspective of travel time to major cities.

It shows that apparently only 10% of the world is truly remote, being more than 48 hours from a major city. And also that a staggering 95% of the world population live on just 10% of the land.

Thank goodness our Sammy assures us that global warning is a leftie myth.
