Stephen Fry on BBC iPlayer

If you live within the UK check out the BBC iPlayer, and do yourself a favour by tracking down yesterday’s programme Stephen Fry and the Gutenburg Press.

A wonderful programme that traces the passion of Gutenburg to replace hand written manuscripts by those produced on the printing press (and to make a fortune in the process).

Fascinating statistic: within 50 years of the development of the printing press the world went from ZERO printed books to 20 million. Great stuff.

  1. On a much more juvenile level try out Look Away Now, the comedy sports programme on Radio 4, which has done a really funny strand based around Live Commentary on the Bible…
